In January 2023, the year kicked off at the Vestamager Library with a colorful, spectacular art exhibition—a life-affirming and timely exhibition focusing on the wildlife of Amager and Kalvebod Commons, painted by local artist Suzana Profeta.

It was a well-attended exhibition that brought color and life to the otherwise dark Vestamager. The pictures weren’t the only attraction—the exhibition was complemented by stuffed animals and the sound of authentic birdsong. It was an experience that engaged all the senses—and both children and adults contributed to the buzz of questions about colors and wildlife.

The exhibition was titled “Look Them in their Eyes—A Natural Moment,” an exhibition inspired by wildlife—wildlife that lives and breathes in symbiosis with Copenhagen’s green heart: Amager and Kalvebod Commons.

“Look Them in their Eyes—A Natural Moment” was an exhibition that lived up to the expectations set by the title, featuring paintings created with alcohol inks—a technique that produced the most beautiful patterns, layer upon layer, in a rich texture—a texture that created a kaleidoscopic image of the fantastic world of wildlife: created by an artist who, through her creativity and imagination, brought a wonderfully colorful world to life at the Vestamager Library—thank you to Suzana Profeta the life-affirming experience that residents were able to enjoy through “Look Them in the Eyes—A Natural Moment.”
